Silver Seasons - Michael Michaud's Botanical Jewelry
Here we are showing the jewelry that Michael Michaud designs for Silver Seasons. Artist Michael Michaud was born in Cleveland, Ohio and raised in Westport, Connecticut. He currently resides in Fairfield, Connecticut with his wife Tricia and their three children Nicole, Shane and Michael.
Silver Seasons is the combination of Michael's exceptional knowledge of jewelry making and his love of nature. Starting as an apprentice mold cutter in 1973, Michael soon became a master precious metal caster and mold maker. In 1976, seeking even more knowledge, Michael moved on to Rochester Institute of Technology's prestigious School for American Craftsmen. While studying under esteemed designers Hans Christenson and Gary Griffin, he mastered many of the techniques he uses today to capture the beauty and exquisite detail of nature in metal. After graduation in 1980, Michael returned to the jewelry manufacturing community and worked for some of America's leading jewelry designers.
In 1991, lucky enough to be living in the Connecticut countryside and working near New York City's flower district, Michael's love of nature began to combine with his love of jewelry. He began experimenting with the techniques that eventually launched the Silver Seasons collection in 1992.
Silver Seasons jewelry is made using the lost wax casting method. Michael has perfected the technique of creating models from natural elements. After models are made, Michael manipulates these "copies of nature" into beautiful jewelry. Using bronze, sterling silver or gold and natural stones and pearls Michael's designs have become well known for their remarkable craftsmanship and beauty.
Some of Michael Michaud's designs are now rendered in Silver and Gold. Since we do not inventory any of Michael's designs rendered in Silver or Gold at the Gallery, we can only offer them on our site by special order. Special orders of these items take from four to six weeks for delivery.
All of the items shown here are maintained in stock at the gallery and can be sent same day or at the latest next day.
