Lanny Lyell from Carlotta, California has sent us forms and bowls turned from Maple and Walnut burls. Lanny’s work features a high gloss finish which works to bring the deep wood grains to the surface.

The Maple burl form shown here is thirteen and one half inches in diameter and stands seven and one quarter inches high. With a very thin walled construction, this form is a pleasure to hold and view. It will be treasured as the work of a dedicated, determined and very skilled wood turner.
